Public Information Officer

The Public Information Officer (P.I.O.) serves as liaison between the police department and the media. This unit is staffed by one officer who acts as a confidential aide to the Chief in matters of the media and may attend meetings on behalf of the Chief as directed. The P.I.O. can be any officer appointed by the Chief of Police to perform this function.
