Fiscal Control

As a public safety agency, the Evansville Police Department operates 24/7 and requires manpower and equipment that is well maintained and prepared when called upon to respond to calls for service.

The goal of our fiscal management is to maintain records and procedures that provide protection for our resources which enable us to conduct an effective and efficient day-to-day operation. EPD also seeks grants where possible to help provide additional funding for innovative projects and equipment.

Tasks such as planning and overseeing the annual budget within the State Board of Accounts guidelines, assuring that supplies and equipment are available at Headquarters and the various satellite offices, monitoring salaries and benefits along with overtime to allot for manpower coverage throughout the year, and maintenance of a safe and reliable fleet are among some of those needed to accomplish responsible fiscal controls.
The Fleet Manager and Office Services Unit work closely with the chief and staff to ensure continuance of daily operations.
